The Comodo Green
we spent months working on exactly the right shade of green for the MUSE vase, in conjunction with the comodo hotel in bad gastein, austria. a crisp, emerald green with a hidden hint of sky blue for lift, it is the perfect green for flowers. it adds freshness, life and stability without distracting from what the bouquet has to say.

what is the wrong shade of green? as a design studio with roots in ireland, the colour green has always been special. it is a colour we are primed to seek out, to surround ourselves with.

it can also be a difficult colour: the difference between an elegant soothing green, a life affirming and fertile green, and a poisonous, acidic green is just a shade or two. we can differenciate between the subtlest shades of green in a heartbeat, sorting the green that nurtures from the green that poisons in our caveman memory. we took our time finding the perfect green for our EMERALD MUSE.
it is a crisp, sober, sincere green with a breath of blue. is the perfect base for the riot of other greens that will fill the your MUSE vase in all the years to come. the single most important source of inspiration for FUNDAMENTAL is paying close attention to the phenomena of the natural environment and the physics behind them.

the green fields of ireland are akin to the aurorae borealis, they have to be seen to be believed. the warm mexican water that laps the west coast, the constant soft rain, the mineral rich, fertile soil and the cold, blue nothern light create a unique condition. when all this reacts with the clorophyll in the grass, it creates a shade of green that is so striking, that once seen, it is impossible to forget.

it is most visible on a bright, damp day, with thin grey cloud cover and a fresh dusting of drizzle. you turn a corner and see an explosion of the most intense green you will ever see, the next minute it is gone. as always our dear readers get a reward for faithful attention to our ramblings.
