Lighting

Light is the material these pieces are really made from. The hand-cut crystal and reclaimed brass are there to shape it — by geometry, not by decoration.

Balance hangs free. Thirty solid brass elements in the Chandelier, nine in the Pendant Light, each weighted to shade and reflect the bulbs behind them. The result is a warm, gently shifting glow rather than a fixed pool of light. The brass is reclaimed and carries the marks of its age; polish it or leave it.

Drops is a table lamp built from hand-finished crystal elements, light held as though falling water had stopped mid-air. The reflections move between clarity and blur as you move past it.

Cobalt Eclipse sets three forms in heavy lead crystal — a milky moon that diffuses, an amber sun that warms, and a wave. How much of each you get depends on where you put it.

Gunnar Rönsch and Steve Molloy are architects by training — David Chipperfield and J. MAYER H. before Berlin. Since 2011 they have applied that discipline to objects the size of a table.
