Red: How Sunlight Remembers Its First Love

At Fundamental, we do not simply apply paint to things. When we are gripped with a passion for a particular color, we work to put the color at the heart of the object, working the color through the piece. Sometimes a tiny injection of pigment is enough to suffuse a whole glass object with a flash of meaning.

Sometimes the whole thing has to be drenched in color. Read on to see how the color informs our work and what it can do to lift your space beyond the banality of greys, muddy earth tones and childish pastels. Ambiguous infusion The DROPS range is marKed by tiny doses of magenta and yellow infused pigments that, when seen from certain angles, fill the whole piece with color, only to disappear a moment later.

Despite the fact that it is such a strong colour, you can make it mean what you want it to mean.

The great advantage of red is that you do not need a lot of it to make a difference, just one well-chosen piece can upgrade a whole room from predictable to considered: red - it cannot hide and it cannot retreat. It demands to be seen.
