What if you could carve a vase out of solid sunlight?
Crystal already splits light into colour. Rainbow asks what happens when you push that further. A dichroic film is applied to the angular facets, amplifying the spectrum that was always latent in the glass, shifting and intensifying as the light changes, or as you move past it.
A massive chunk of sparkling sunlight. What if a vase was carved by hand out of a single, heavy lump of brilliant crystal, to hold the light as well as it holds florals? Hand carved and polished from heavy Krone Neun glass with a 1.57 index of refraction and a 90% transmission rate, by traditional crystal artesans in a family run workshop in Zhejiang, this piece combines the best of high precison and the human touch.
